Located in the Goldfields town of Kambalda, this aquatic centre was in need of an upgrade to continue providing aquatic facilities to the local community. Commercial Aquatics were engaged to complete a refurbishment of the existing 50m and Learners pool all served by a common filtration plant originally constructed in the early 1970’s.
Both pools were fully stripped with the 50m modified to construct a new ramp and step entry. The Leisure pool was fully stripped with one end demolished back to the construction joint, and a new beach entry extension constructed with incorporated water features. The return floor channels were demolished to make way for new pressurised pipe work. Both pools were fully tiled off with new metal works and pool furniture. New underground concrete balance & backwash tanks were built to serve new separate filtration systems. A solar heating system was added for the Leisure pool.
