The redevelopment of the Bold Park Aquatic Centre included demolition of the existing outdoor 50m 8 lane pool structure. A new, larger 50mx 26m, 10 lane pool was constructed complete with a tiled finish. The 50m pool features an entry ramp, starting blocks and stain-less steel furniture and motorized pool blankets in concealed recessed pits. In addition to the pool structure works we completed a full overhaul of the plant room. The existing water treatment equipment was removed , and the plant room was partially demolished and enlarged to make way for new upgraded ultra-fine filtration system and water chemistry equipment to suit the additional water volume and bringing the filtration system up to and beyond current industry standards.
The scope of works also included the construction of a brand new Learn to Swim/Leisure pool with a 20m 4 lane lap pool, a Learn to Swim Zone, and a waterplay zone with beach entry. The structure features a fully tiled finish, stainless steel furniture and numerous interactive water features, including bubblers at the beach entry. A new electrical sub-board with PLC/touch screen control was also installed.
A complete supply and install package was included for the associated hydraulics, filtration and water chemistry equipment and heating systems for both the 50m pool and the Leisure pool.
This project was awarded Silver at the SPASA Awards of Excellence 2016.
