CONSTRUCTION
Commercial Aquatics Australia has designed and constructed aquatic facilities across Australia, from FINA-approved competition facilities in capital cities, to pools for remote Aboriginal communities in the Far North. Our experience in solving the logistical and environmental challenges of these very different locations means that construction regimes and schedules are dependable, leading to effective budget and project management at all levels.
A number of different construction techniques are appropriate for commercial pools, and we are pleased to provide advice and design assistance at the earliest stages to guide the development of a project. In addition to pool structures, Commercial Aquatics has specific expertise in every aspect of construction including:
- Surfaces/Interior Finishes – fully tiled, plaster finish, vinyl lined or painted/
- Myrtha Technology – stainless steel panels permanently laminated with a hard PVC coating, meaning quick assembly, unparalleled maintenance performance and extensive warranty.
- Renovations – from complete redesign and refurbishment, to a total makeover of the plant room and filtration system. We also specialise in resurfacing old pools, either fully tiled, plastered, vinyl lined or refurbished using Myrtha Technology’s RenovAction (R).
- Plant Rooms – whether upgrading existing systems, or installing complete plant rooms, Commercial Aquatics Australia has licenced plumbers experienced in swimming pool filtration and hydraulics.
Commercial Aquatics Australia personnel have a wealth of experience and skills, some with over 25 years in commercial construction. Always looking for more efficient and innovative methods of construction, we can frequently offer cost savings over traditional methods. Our in-house Quality Assurance Management System and design & documentation processes ensure no oversights, enabling a smooth transition from design and manufacturing through to the installation stage and final completion.
SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE
Commercial Aquatics Australia provides a range of maintenance and training solutions to pool operators around the country, including preventative maintenance to pumps, filters, and associated steralisation equipment, together with reactive repairs to pumps and pipe work, plant room equipment replacement, plant operator training and water microbiological testing to comply with local health standards.
An important service is the production of asset condition reports, enabling operators to plan for the orderly replacement of large items of plant, thereby minimising facility downtime. We can also advise on upgrading existing filtration plant rooms to suit current Health Department requirements.
When renovation of existing pools becomes necessary, our services range from complete pool redesign and refurbishment solutions, to new filtration systems and the addition of remote monitoring equipment.
Commercial Aquatics Australia also specialises in repairs to existing pools, which can include works such as tiling, expansion joint repair, or refurbishment using Myrtha Technology’s RenovAction (R).

MYRTHA TECHNOLOGY
Developed in Europe, the Myrtha system is leading-edge technology, based upon a unique modular system employing stainless steel panels laminated with a special rigid PVC membrane on the inside surface. Together with buttresses at each panel joint, this arrangement makes the pool structure fully self-supporting. Myrtha Technology is tailored for customers who appreciate quality, and who opt for safe long-term technical investments.
Commercial Aquatics Australia, as the local partner of Myrtha Pools, has had outstanding success installing this technology for clients in a large number of high-profile aquatic centre developments throughout Australia. This system offers highly flexible planning and design alternatives that have no limit with regard to the structure’s shape or size – a significantly fasters installation than conventional concrete structure designs. Panels are pre-engineered off-site and shipped to the location; this means that the pool can be built in a very short space of time, with no heavy equipment required on site – a huge advantage where the facility is part of a more complex construction project.
The precise assembly process provides exceptional reliability and long lasting performance over time, a result of the structure’s resistance to adverse atmospheric conditions. Any type of pool project is suitable for this technology, from precise competitive situations to elaborate freeform pool design. Myrtha Technology is environmentally friendly, as determined by a comparison of carbon emissions on a Myrtha and traditional concrete structure. The footprint of a 50m Myrtha Pool can be upto 50% lower than that of a traditional concrete tiled pool.
