Located in the Shire of Mundaring, the Bilgoman Aquatic Centre project included the demolition and removal of existing toddler’s pools and selected plant room equipment. The existing 50m divebowl was refurbished. The painted pool structure was stripped back to concrete ready for new finishes. The pool structure was upgraded to wet deck gutters larger bulkheads.
The centre channel was removed and all new hydraulics back to plant room were installed. The pool was refurbished with new tiling and stainless-steel furniture. A new double formed concrete wet deck Leisure Pool was installed, finished with a full tile and stainless-steel furniture. The pool has a beach entry, with beach bubbler features, leading to a 600mm deep area facilitating learn to swim activities.
New limestone paved concourse with perimeter drainage was installed around the pools. The existing plant room was expanded with an extra sand filter to the filtration system & all new pumps. The water chemistry dosing system was upgraded, utilizing the existing chlorine gas setup. A new electrical sub-board with touch screen PLXC control wireless access to the main office was installed.
This project was awarded Gold in the Commercial Renovation Category at the at the 2015 SPASA Awards.
